CORA4A: Cardiac Outcomes Risk Assessment-Prospective Validation of CORA Models (CORA Project 4A)

Purpose:

The objective of the CORA 4A study is the prospective validation of our prognostic risk models based on advanced data mining and machine learning algorithms, which will be packaged as a user-friendly computer application that would be used at key decision points in the course of treatment. These models will provide physicians with a prognostic assessment based on the fusion of: patient-specific data, expert knowledge, and retrospective meta-analysis.

Inclusion criteria:

1) Age > 18 years

2) Diagnosis of advanced HF (INTERMACS Profile 1-7) referred for mechanical circulatory support. These include patients both in the hospital and out-patient setting.

Exclusion criteria:

1) Subjects who are unable to consent and who do not have a surrogate

2) Patients who are unlikely to receive an LVAD.
