Things you need to know for under 18

Based on completed clinical trials, the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine is currently the only vaccine approved by the FDA for people ages 12-17.
  • Bring a parent or guardian

If you’re under 18, you need to bring a parent, legal guardian, or authorized representative to provide consent and hang out with you during the whole vaccination session. This can take about 15 minutes to an hour.

  • Find a Pfizer location near you

When scheduling, make sure you verify that your appointment slot is for a Pfizer vaccine. In our online vaccine scheduler, we specify which vaccine type(s) are being distributed at that location on which dates.

  • Who’s eligible

Everyone age 12 and older is eligible to receive a vaccine at no cost. Multiple clinical trials have started to examine if a vaccine can be given to children age 6 months and older, but all these trials are still in-progress.
