Congratulations to the STAR Center and the eight members of its second class of certified nursing assistants (CNAs). The students graduated at a ceremony held at the STAR Center on June 4, and are scheduled to take the PA nursing assistant certification exam on July 19.
The first and second CNA classes at the STAR Center were restricted to high school students, as specified by the Laurel Foundation, which gave STAR a grant to establish the CNA program. The Laurel Foundation has now awarded the STAR
Center a second grant of $35,000 to expand their training programs so that anyone interested in pursuing vocational training as an emergency medical technician (EMT) or CNA can do so at the STAR Center.
