Andrew Adams, MD, Receives 2010 STAR Award Featured in News & Notes


Congratulations to Andrew Adams, MD, Department of Medicine, who was presented with the 2010 STAR Award on September 9, 2010.

The STAR (Simulation Teaching and Academic Research) Center at WPAHS has presented this award annually since the center's opening in 2007 to recognize those truly exceptional people whose efforts have gone above and beyond to help STAR accomplish its goals of innovation and excellence in health education.

Dr. Adams, who completed his residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at West penn hospital, is an attending physician at West Penn Allegheny Health system, and an Assistant professor of Medicine at Temple University School of medicine.  He is also the Lead Instructor for Internal Medicine at STAR.

"Dr. Adams has developed and taught many courses at STAR, greatly expanding our medical education program," noted STAR's Medical director Donald Wilfong, MD, in presenting the award.  "His efforts have been integral in the incorporation of simulation throughout WPAHS."
