We’re all facing the uncertainty of Coronavirus. As a health care worker, you are under extreme stress right now. As you work around the clock to take care of patients, consider these six tips to help maintain your own physical, mental, and emotional health:

  1. Meet your basic needs: Drink water. Eat. Sleep. These three basic steps will keep you going.
  2. Take a break: Don’t feel guilty about taking a few minutes to yourself to recharge. What’s best for you is best for your patients.
  3. Chat with colleagues: We’re all in this together. Talk with others who may be experiencing the same feelings of stress or anxiety. Your coworkers and leaders are here to help.
  4. Phones down: Don’t get wrapped up in social media or news stories about Coronavirus. You’re on the frontlines. You know what’s going on.
  5. Stay in the loop: As a network, we’re doing our best to keep you updated on the latest policies and procedures. It may feel like things are changing daily, but it’s all in an effort to keep you safe.
  6. Acknowledge your work: Say it aloud: “I am doing remarkable work.” You are going above and beyond to serve your community. Give yourself the credit you deserve.
