Cardiac Support Group - A-Fib: Diagnosis and Treatment

Course Description
Atrial fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrhythmia. It impairs cardiac function and increases the risk of stroke and the incidence of atrial fibrillation. Risk also increases with age. In this informational presentation, we will discuss key treatment issues, including deciding when to restore normal sinus rhythm, when to control rate only, and how to prevent thromboembolism. Information about anticoagulation therapy and cardiac ablation will also be covered. Light refreshments provided
