Colon Cancer Screening Saturdays

Course Description

Early detection can save your life.

Colon cancer is the third most common type of cancer and the second-leading cause of death from cancer for both men and women.

Schedule a colonoscopy today if you are 50 years of age or older.

Call 412-515-2723 to schedule.

Additional details:

  • There are a limited number of screening opportunities available. You can make an appointment by calling 412-515-2723
  • Most insurances will cover the cost of the screening. Please mention your insurance plan when making an appointment and patients should confirm their insurance will cover the screening.
  • Participants will receive instructions on the best type of bowel prep prior to the screening. They will also need to be on a clear liquid diet the day before the colonoscopy.
  • Certain health restrictions may affect eligibility for a colonoscopy at one of these outpatient centers.

A colonoscopy is a test that allows doctors to examine the inside of the colon where tumors or small growths known as polyps can occur. Polyps, in time, may grow into cancer. By finding polyps and removing them, your physician can prevent colon cancer. Colonoscopies are performed by highly specialized Allegheny Health network physicians through the AHN Endoscopy Service Line at Allegheny Health Network.
