Course Description

We are committed to the health and safety of our patients, visitors, and staff. In accordance withprecautions being taken to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we have suspended all prenatal classes, effective immediately, until further notice. Those already registered for classes will be contacted directly.

In lieu of in-person prenatal classes, we are offering FREE online learning modules on childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, and newborn careincluding lots of videos.

During this 2.5 hour course, participants will receive information and techniquesfor managing the early weeks as a breastfeeding family.

Topics include getting breastfeeding off to the best start after delivery, practicing position and latch, as well as recommendations and resources to help you meet your breastfeeding goals.

This class is taught by InternationalBoard Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC).

Expectant fathers / support partners are encouraged to attend.

Cancellation

West Penn Hospital reserves the right to cancel a class at any time. If it is necessary for us to cancel classes, you will be contacted.

Refund Policy

Refunds will be granted in cases of premature delivery or medical complications. A refund for non-medical reasons must be requested at least three weeks prior to the beginning of the class. There is a $10 processing fee for refunds.

Class fees may be reimbursable

Some health insurances may reimburse you for class registration fees. This means that, while you pay for your class up front, your health insurance maypay you back when you submit the appropriate form.

Please check with your insurance provider to see if they cover the costs of prenatal education classes and what you need to do to get your refund.
