Dr. Pinder joined Allegheny Health Network as the program’s very first medical physics resident in August 2019. The first time that he felt passionate working in the field of radiation oncology was when he was employed by BrainLAB Company working in stereotactic radiosurgery (Novalis machine). Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, he held a position as postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Radiation Oncology at University of Colorado, Denver. There he worked on a national clinical trials project called “characterization of spatial lung function for esophageal cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy using a quantitative 4DCT-lung ventilation map”. Dr. Pinder enjoys spending time with his family and loves to practice yoga on a daily basis. He is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine.
Dr. Pinder received his undergraduate degree in nuclear physics. He completed his Master’s and PhD degrees in medical physics in Europe. While working as an adjunct physics faculty in Miami, FL at the Florida International University, he completed his graduate certificate in medical physics at the University of Florida and passed his ABR certification (Part I).
