ATI-TEAS and Fundamentals of Nursing Testing Procedures

ATI-TEAS testing at AHN campuses

ATI-TEAS entrance examination is available on-site at Allegheny Health Network in the Paper/Pencil format only.

The following examination dates are available on the campus of Citizens School of Nursing for Fall 2022 admission: 

Tuesday, October 26, 2021

Tuesday November 30, 2021

Thursday January 27, 2022

Thursday February 10, 2022

Friday March 18, 2022

Friday April 22, 2022

Prior to registration for one of the above onsite testing dates, prospective candidates must submit a paid application to the School of Nursing.

To schedule the ATI-TEAS examination at the Citizens of Nursing campus, please email CSONadmissions@ahn.org,  or call (724) 367-2382.

All applicants are required to pay a $75.00 examination fee. This fee must be paid prior to the scheduled examination.  Repeat examinations on campus will require an additional $75.00 fee.

Note: Applicants may take the ATI-TEAS at another testing site. A copy of the TEAS results/transcript should be sent from the ATI website to the admissions office at Citizens School of Nursing. On the ATI website, Select “Share my Results” and select the Citizens SON. Pay ATI an additional $27.00 fee to send.

Test preparation

Test preparation is highly recommended. In order to prepare to take the TEAS, applicants may wish to purchase the TEAS Study Guide or TEAS Online Practice Test.

ATI-Fundamentals of Nursing testing at citizens campus

The following examination dates for ATI Fundamentals of Nursing are available on the campus of Citizens School of Nursing

Eligible to start January 2022

  • Monday November 22, 2021 at 9am
  • Friday December 10, 2021 at 9 am

Eligible to start January 2023

  • Monday February 21, 2022 at 9am
  • Monday March 7, 2022 at 9am
  • Monday April 11, 2022 at 9am

Applicant must achieve a minimum Level 2 to be able to start in the Spring Semester.

Applicants with a Level 1 will be offered admission into the program starting in the Fall Semester.

Applicants scoring Below Level 1 will be required to take the TEAS test with a prefer score of 65% IAS (individual adjusted score).

Applicants are only eligible to take the Fundamentals of Nursing test once.

Test preparation

Test preparation is highly recommended. In order to prepare to take the ATI-Fundamentals of Nursing, applicants may wish to purchase the Fundamentals of Nursing book from ATI.

ATI registration and test ID number

Prior to attending the pre-admission ATI-TEAS test or ATI Fundamentals of Nursing test, applicants must open a free account with ATI (Assessment Technologies Institute, LLC) and obtain a personal ATI testing ID number.

Individual should bring a printout or copy of the ID number to the pre-admission ATI-TEAS /ATI Fundamentals of Nursing test.

To create a free ATI account and testing ID number:

  • Go to www.atitesting.com and click on "Create New Account."
  • Follow the screen prompts.
  • In the "Institutions" section, locate our school listed as "Citizens SON"
  • After creating an ATI account, the personal ID will be displayed under "Account Information." At this screen, be sure to print or copy the ATI ID "paper/pencil" number.
  • Keep this ATI paper/pencil ID number until notified by the School of Nursing regarding acceptance. If accepted, students will utilize this ID number throughout the nursing program.

Test day guidelines

  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior the start of test. Those arriving after the exam has begun will not be permitted to take the test and they will need to reschedule.
  • Bring your Paper/Pencil ID number for the examination.
  • Valid Photo ID (Driver’s License, U.S. Passport, or U.S. Permanent Citizen Card) No other forms of ID will be accepted. Any ID that has expired will not be accepted. If proper ID is not available the applicant will not be permitted to take the exam and will be required to reschedule.
