AHN cancer specialists — medical, radiology, and surgical oncologists — regularly discuss your treatment plan at tumor board meetings. Together, they review the right treatment or combination of therapies for each stage  of your care to give you the best results. At every step of the way, they will discuss your options and consider your personal preferences and lifestyle, including support services to keep you living the best quality of life during treatment.

Radiation oncology services

Our radiation oncology department features state-of-the-art technology with treatment programs that use  computer-guided beams to accurately target cancer cells while sparing surrounding normal tissue. Radiation is delivered from a sophisticated machine called a linear accelerator in a comfortable, spacious treatment room.

Medical oncology services

Specialized medications kill cancer cells, attack specific genes, and enhance the body’s immune response to fight head and neck cancers.

We offer chemotherapy, which destroys or shrinks cancer cells and may be the most effective treatment when cancer has spread to other organs (metastatic) or has come back after treatment (recurrent cancer). We try
to reduce side effects and be as effective as possible by carefully controlling your dose.

AHN also provides immunotherapy. This therapy boosts your body’s natural immune system to fight against your cancer. It can help stop or slow the growth of cancer cells, stop its spread to other parts of the body, and help the immune system destroy cancer cells.
