Allegheny Health Network, Highmark and Saint Vincent Hospital Celebrate Opening of East Side Health + Wellness Pavilion
Wednesday, April 10, 2019

Officials from Highmark Health, Allegheny Health Network (AHN) and Saint Vincent Hospital today joined Erie County community leaders to officially cut the ribbon to a new AHN Health + Wellness Pavilion East Side, located at 4950 Buffalo Road in Harborcreek Township.

The 32,000 square-foot AHN Health + Wellness Pavilion East Side integrates comprehensive Saint Vincent outpatient services at one convenient location for residents of the county’s east corridor, including primary care – with seven providers and 24 patient exam rooms – urgent care, rehabilitation services, occupational medicine, laboratory services and specialty care services.

Advanced diagnostic imaging services are also offered at the new facility, including 3D digital tomosynthesis mammography, state-of the-art CT, general and orthopaedic X-rays, DEXA scanning for bone density testing, and general, cardiac and vascular ultrasound.

“Saint Vincent and AHN are so pleased to bring these high-quality, comprehensive services and state-of-the-art capabilities to our east side residents, close to where they live and work,” said Chris Clark, DO, MHA, President of Saint Vincent Hospital. “It’s all part of our patient-centered mission and commitment to getting health care right.”

The pavilion is the fifth such facility opened by Allegheny Health Network over the past five years. The others are located in the Pittsburgh suburbs of Wexford, Bethel Park and Peters Township, and on the west side of Erie.

“Health + Wellness Pavilions are a unique component of our community-focused health care delivery system,” said Cynthia Hundorfean, AHN President and CEO. “As we have already demonstrated at our other existing Pavilions, including our west side location here in Erie, this wonderful new facility will offer patients the exceptional care and experience that they and their families deserve.”

According to Saint Vincent family physician Christopher Serafini, DO, the pavilion model offers an integrated, collaborative environment that benefits patients and caregivers alike.

“It is an enormous benefit to have so many specialists and diagnostic services in one central location – from onsite lab and imaging capabilities, to specialist consults when needed, to rehab and occupational therapy services that help get our patients back on their feet,” said Christopher Serafini, DO, a Saint Vincent family physician practicing in the new pavilion. “It is a continuum of care that offers patients not just convenience, but a truly comprehensive health care experience.”

The Health + Wellness Pavilion East Side was developed in conjunction with Saint Vincent by The Westminster Group Companies and West Ridge Medical Partners, LLC.

The facility was built adjacent to the Saint Vincent Urgent Care Center East, which opened in 1998 and annually treats more than 11,800 patients, as well as Saint Vincent East Harbor Primary Care, which treats more than 5,100 patients each year.
