Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute Opens New Robinson Township Treatment Center

Monday, July 1, 2019

ROBINSON TWP., PA –  The Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute (AHN) has opened a new medical oncology treatment center on Steubenville Pike in Robinson Township, offering a close-to-home option for cancer patients who live in Pittsburgh’s western suburbs and the West Virginia panhandle.

AHN Cancer Institute – Robinson replaces AHN’s previous clinic location on Church Hill Road in Robinson and expands both the center’s patient care capacity and the number of onsite physicians and support staff. The 5,860-square-foot facility has been designed and renovated to offer patients the maximum in convenience and comfort. It has 12 infusion treatment bays and 5 exam rooms, including one triage room and one procedure room.

AHN oncologists Christie Hilton, DO, and Jason Stepp, MD, will care for patients at the center, assisted by Beth Bachowski, CRNP.

AHN works closely with the nearby Weirton Medical Center in a number of medical specialties including cancer care, and operates an additional infusion center at Weirton.

The new cancer center is part of a $300 million investment in cancer services by Highmark Health and AHN that includes a new academic cancer center at Allegheny General Hospital, and multiple new comprehensive community-based cancer treatment facilities.  Three of those facilities have opened this year, including centers in Beaver, Butler and Monroeville, with centers in Erie and Hempfield scheduled to open later this year.  The academic cancer center at AGH is expected to open in April or May of 2020.

“At the Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute, we believe patients have the best experience and the best outcomes when they are treated close to home, in community programs integrated with our academic specialty cancer care at Allegheny General and West Penn Hospitals, and Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center,” said David Parda, MD, Chair, AHN Cancer Institute. “We are excited to open this patient-centered program in Robinson where patients from Pittsburgh’s western suburbs and the Weirton area can get the same innovative, high-quality care available at our urban medical centers.”

The new facility, located at Three Robinson Plaza, Suite 430, 6600 Steubenville Pike, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. More information is available by calling 412-325-5500.
