Practice brings gynecology, prenatal and postpartum care services to community

WESTFIELD, NY  – Officials from Westfield Memorial Hospital (WMH), Saint Vincent Hospital and Allegheny Health Network gathered today to cut the ribbon for a new OB/GYN practice on the second floor of hospital in its Specialty Suite.

The new practice -- OB/GYN Associates of Erie – Westfield Office -- will provide gynecologic, prenatal, and postpartum care for patients in Western New York.

“We are extremely excited to partner with OB/GYN Associates of Erie to offer patients in this region high quality OB/GYN services right here at Westfield Memorial Hospital,” said WMH President, Karen Surkala. “This commitment to women in our region helps continue to fulfill AHN’s promise to provide quality care close to home throughout its network.”

An all-female staff, including OB/GYN specialists Dr. Elizabeth Wise, Dr. Annette V. Wagner, as well as certified nurse midwives Peggy Boyd, Heather Mozdy, and Julie Schwab, will be providing services at the practice.

“This new practice will provide not only the convenience of OB/GYN care that takes place right here in the western New York region, but the continuity of care that will come with the same practice doing gynecologic and prenatal visits at WMH also doing deliveries, C-sections and gynecological surgeries at the beautiful new state-of-the-art AHN Women and Infants Center at Saint Vincent, in Erie,” said Saint Vincent president Chris Clark, DO. “It is a connection that will provide true peace of mind to patients from this region.”

The Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation provided $25,275 to the hospital for a powered obstetric exam table and a fetal monitor to be used by providers in the hospital’s Specialty Suite.

“The providers in our practice will seek to establish meaningful relationships and emphasize a personal approach to care for the women of this community,” said Ellen Dailey, MD, OB/GYN Associates. “This office is not only just a geographic convenience for the women of this area, but it also allows them to form those relationships, providing a meaningful sense of comfort.”

Michael Scutella, MD, of OB/GYN Associates agrees. “We are extremely proud to bring these vital medical services to the women of western New York in partnership with Westfield Memorial Hospital, Saint Vincent Hospital and Allegheny Health Network.”

To schedule an appointment at the new practice, call the practice’s Erie office at 814-459-1851 and request the Westfield location.
