AHN Launches Real-Time Remote Access to All Emergency and Urgent Care Wait Times

Friday, October 25, 2019

PITTSBURGH, PA (October 25, 2019) – Patients in need of emergency or urgent care can now check up-to-the-minute wait times at all Allegheny Health Network (AHN) emergency departments and urgent care centers thanks to Find Care Now, a service available at and via desktop and mobile devices on MyChart.

AHN patients who use MyChart can also use the program to check in and enter basic demographic information while alerting the facility that they are on their way. Once patients mark themselves as “On the Way,” Bing Maps provides directions to the facility.  AHN is the first health system in the Pittsburgh area to offer patients real-time wait times for all emergency and urgent care facilities.

“At AHN, we are focused on providing patients with the best possible experience from start to finish,” said Robert White, MD, AHN’s Chief Medical Information Officer. “When patients are seeking emergency or urgent care, Find Care Now allows them to select the most convenient location with the shortest waiting time, helping them get the care they need as quickly as possible so they can resume their daily lives.”

He added that patients who are critically ill, such as those who suspect they are having a heart attack or stroke, or who are having difficulty breathing, should always call 911 or proceed to the closest emergency department.
