Gateway Health to Deliver Donated New Kitchen Utensils to AHN Healthy Food Center
Monday, October 29, 2018
Since its opening last spring, many patients have gained access at the AHN Healthy Food Center to nutritious foods which help them to better manage their health conditions. One challenge faced by some, however, is the lack of kitchen utensils necessary for preparing their meals. That’s why Gateway Health recently held a ‘kitchen utensils and supplies drive’ at its headquarters in Downtown Pittsburgh. Today, representatives from Gateway Health will visit the Healthy Food Center to deliver the hundreds of items donated by employees.

Food insecurity affects more than 350,000 people in our region and is known to have far reaching impacts on a person’s overall health and wellbeing. The Healthy Food Center aims to not only curb hunger, but to link food and medicine so that patients can better manage their health conditions and lead more fulfilling lives. With a shared commitment to actively supporting the needs of society’s most vulnerable, AHN is extremely grateful for the support of Gateway Health.
