AHN Cancer Institute Hosts “Care and Cosmetics” Class for People With Cancer;
Events Set for Dec. 4 in Beaver County; Dec. 6 in Butler County
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute will offer a Care and Cosmetics program, promoting self-care and education to individuals with a cancer diagnosis, in two local communities in December.
Classes will be held at AHN Cancer Institute – Beaver, 81 Wagner Road, Center Township, PA 15061, on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. and at AHN Cancer Institute – Butler, 160 Hollywood Drive, Butler, PA 16001, on Friday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m.
Anyone with a cancer diagnosis can register by calling 412.330.4045 and leaving a message with their name, phone number, and date/location of the class they wish to attend. The class is open to anyone with a cancer diagnosis, including those not being treated by AHN.
All participants will receive a cosmetics travel bag, concealer, eyebrow liner, eyeshadow, false eyelashes, hand sanitizer, lip gloss, lotion, makeup wipes and mascara. Participants are welcome but not required to bring their own makeup to incorporate with the items given to them in the class. At the end of the class they will be asked to fill out an optional survey.
This year AHN Cancer Institute opened state-of-the-art community cancer centers in Erie and Monroeville, and in Beaver and Butler counties. A community cancer center in Hempfield, Westmoreland County, is expected to open in January. In all, AHN Cancer Institute offers comprehensive cancer care in more than 20 locations in communities throughout western Pennsylvania.
