PITTSBURGH – The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia Chapter has announced the selection of Cynthia Hundorfean to its Board of Directors. She will provide support to the chapter in executing the Foundation’s mission to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.
“I am thrilled to be a part of this outstanding organization and to have been selected as a board member for the local chapter,” said Cynthia Hundorfean, President and CEO, Allegheny Health Network. “It’s a privilege to advocate on behalf of the many patients and families in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia who live with these digestive conditions. My own daughter was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease just after her second birthday, so I know first-hand how debilitating the symptoms can be, and how important it is to provide emotional and material support to the patients, families and researchers who are fighting these diseases.”
“Cindy has been able to provide concise information and supplied us with resources the Chapter has not had the opportunity to have in the past. Her ability to connect to the IBD community on a personal and professional level has been a pleasure to witness,” said Eric Hecker, Chapter Executive Director.
"Cindy brings passion and experience to our Board, we are thrilled to have her join us and look forward to our advancing the Foundation’s mission together,” said Dom Dozzi, Chapter Board President.
Active in both her community and within the health care industry, Hundorfean serves on the boards of directors of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania and the Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania. She is also a member of the American Hospital Association and the Medical Group Management Association.
She received her Executive MBA from Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Robert Meyers College.
