Monday, March 25, 2019
Saint Vincent Hospital, part of the Allegheny Heath Network, will honor three area EMS teams for “Great Saves” in 2018 and 2019 at a special recognition dinner on Thursday, March 21, at 7 p.m. at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center.
Former star of the NBC hit television series “Emergency!,” Randolph Mantooth, will be part of the presentation. Mantooth played paramedic, Johnny Gage, on the popular TV show.
The awards recognize the efforts of EMS professionals to save cardiac arrest patients through multiple defibrillations, medications and exhaustive rounds of CPR.
The crews include:
Bryan Lechner, Jennifer Waxham, Alicia Rose, Gerald Hickin, III, Norm Laufenberg, Beau Beach, Jerry Smith, Jacob Gustafson and Chris Parker of West Ridge Fire Department & Millcreek Paramedic Service.
Brennan Smith, Harv McCabe, Rick Robie, Mike Carpin and Jim Pyle, of the McKean Hose Company & Central Erie County Paramedic Association.
Dave Cauley, Jordan Scavo, Phil Latimer, Brian Johnston, Rich Greene, Jeffrey Bagnoni, and Cory Migliaccio of Emergycare and Erie Fire Department Engine 13.
“Saint Vincent is so pleased to offer this recognition to these deserving EMS providers,” said Saint Vincent President Chris Clark, DO. “Every day at Saint Vincent, our patient’s family members thank us for the role we play in saving the lives of their loved ones after a cardiac event, but the EMS, who were the first responders in saving those patients, are rarely able to receive those words of thanks. This is our way of thanking them on behalf of our patients and their families.”
