Saint Vincent Names Roeback as Chief Operating Officer

Thursday, June 22, 2017

Saint Vincent Hospital, part of Allegheny Health Network, has named Erie native Jason Roeback, MHA, as its new Chief Operating Officer.   Roeback joins recently appointed Saint Vincent President, Christopher Clark, DO, MHA, at the top levels of leadership for the hospital.

He will assume his new role in late July.

Roeback joins Saint Vincent from Sharon Regional Health System, where he has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 2015.

A seasoned health care executive with more than 20 years of experience in leading for-profit, non-profit, and academic healthcare institutions, Roeback’s previous roles include President of UPMC Northwest Hospital and President of UPMC Hamot’s employed physician network.

Before UPMC, Roeback was CEO of HMA Hernando Healthcare in Spring Hill, Fla., and CEO of HealthSouth locations in Florida and Arizona.   He began his career as a fiscal and administrative officer at the United States Navy Medical Service Corps’ Naval Hospital Jacksonville, in Florida.

“Jason is an exceptionally talented, results-oriented leader with a deep understanding of the Northwestern Pennsylvania market, and a proven track record of success in building environments of care defined by superior quality and high satisfaction among employees, physicians and patients.   We look forward to the tremendous value and the impact those qualities will have on our organization, the greater Erie community and those we care for,” said Dr. Clark.

Roeback joins Saint Vincent at a time of significant transformation for the organization.  Last month the hospital broke ground on the initial phase of a $115 million capital investment plan that will include construction of a new, state-of-the-art emergency department and operating room suite, renovations of inpatient units and other major enhancements to the hospital’s services across the region.

“I am excited to join an organization that truly puts patients at the center of every equation,” said Roeback.  “As a native and resident of this community, it’s an honor to have the opportunity to help further advance the legacy of outstanding care and community service that has distinguished Saint Vincent since its founding, and I look forward to working with the thousands of dedicated caregivers who help fulfill that promise every day.”
