Allegheny Health Network Names Bethany Casagranda, DO, Chair of Department of Radiology

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Allegheny Health Network (AHN) has named Bethany Casagranda, DO, Chair of the Department of Radiology. Dr. Casagranda most recently served at AHN as Trauma Liaison for Radiology, Director of the Musculoskeletal Division, and Program Director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency.
In her new role, Dr. Casagranda will work alongside hospital administration, physicians, division leadership and independent radiology groups to further establish and help guide the department’s mission and strategic vision. She will lead the department’s day-to-day operations, overseeing the efforts of AHN’s many employed physicians, physician extenders, residents and fellows who provide radiology services at each of the Network’s hospitals, ambulatory facilities, and affiliated locations throughout western Pennsylvania.
Upon joining AHN in 2013 as a musculoskeletal radiologist at Allegheny General Hospital, Dr. Casagranda first served in the position of Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship Director and has been involved in a variety of professional and academic roles within AHN.

A graduate of Washington and Jefferson College, Dr. Casagranda earned her medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her post-graduate training included an internship at West Virginia University and the completion of a diagnostic radiology residency and a musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at UPMC. Prior to AHN, Dr. Casagranda was the clinical director of musculoskeletal radiology at the University of Pittsburgh with a focus on sports medicine imaging research.
Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Casagranda is a member of numerous state and national professional organizations in her field, and she currently serves as Chair of the Residency and Fellowship Education Committee of the Society of Skeletal Radiology.
