Allegheny Health Network International Travel Clinic
The goal of our travel clinic is to help make your travel abroad experience a healthy one.
We offer comprehensive travel guidance through a visit with an Allegheny Health Network infectious disease physician.
The following vaccinations are offered based on recommendation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO):
- Yellow fever*
- Polio (injectable)
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Japanese encephalitis
- Meningococcus meningitis
* Please call for availability due to world-wide shortages
Preventative malaria and anti-diarrheal medications may be discussed and prescribed, if appropriate based on destination.
Site specific travel recommendations may be made including food safety and travel advisories.
In order to assist you, we recommend arranging an appointment as soon as you have travel plans. Some vaccinations require a series of vaccinations or may take a few weeks to maximize their effectiveness.
