Who should be evaluated?

  • Any patient who is showing symptoms of hydrocephalus, particularly those with a history of severe brain infection, trauma to the brain, or bleeding in the brain.
  • Patients who have previously undergone a shunt procedure may be at risk for redeveloping symptoms of hydrocephalus. Any patient who has had a shunt placed in the past and has not been regularly seen by a neurosurgeon should be assessed to be sure the shunt is still functioning as effectively as possible. • Patients who have been diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus.
  • Patients who have been diagnosed with the following neurological conditions that are progressive despite medical management:
    • Pseudotumor Cerebri
    • Aquaductal Stenosis
