Neuroendoscopy

The AHN Neuroscience Institute’s neurosurgeons are among the most experienced in the world in performing minimally invasive endoscopic spine and brain surgery. For decades, they have been pioneering groundbreaking procedures using an endoscope – a tube with a lens and light source at the end connected to a high-definition monitor and fed through small openings of the body.

Our highly trained and talented multidisciplinary team utilize this innovative technology, state-of-the-art imaging and sleek instrumentation to perform sophisticated procedures through either tiny incisions or through the nose and sinuses without any incision at all. These minimally invasive procedures allow for precise removal of tumors and discs and meticulous treatment of aneurysms, cysts, neuromas and malformations. Our surgeons are able to treat many tumors that are difficult to reach, even those once considered inoperable. Then neuroendoscopy procedures are performed in AHN’s state-of-the-art operating suites and typically result in minimal pain, fast recoveries and little or no scarring.

Our Minimally Invasive Neuroendoscopy Program provides:

  • Surgeons who are among the most elite and experienced in the country
  • Progressive technology that locates the exact source and location of your pain
  • Less trauma to the brain and critical nerves
  • Incisions measured in millimeters with minor blood loss
  • Little or no scarring
  • Minimal recovery time
  • Lasting pain relief
  • Customized treatment specific to your needs

The AHN Neuroscience Institute performs various minimally invasive neuroendoscopic and endonasal procedures for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Cervical disc herniation
  • Cervical stenosis
  • Chiari malformation
  • Hyperhidrosis
  • Lumbar disc herniation
  • Lumbar stenosis

Treatments

Our comprehensive approach to treating brain tumors and conditions provides a wide breadth of treatments options that are determined specifically for your condition and needs. The specific types of procedural approaches we perform include:

Endoscopic approach utilizes highly specialized surgical instrumentation to treat an array of conditions from vascular injuries, such as stroke and aneurysm, to skull base tumors and spine conditions. Through only a small incision(s), a very narrow tube (endoscope) with a light and lens on it is fed to the area of your body that needs treated. The lens projects extremely magnified, panoramic internal images onto a monitor so the surgeon can perform the procedure very precisely.

Endoscopic endonasal approach is a technique pioneered by AHN neurosurgeons to remove brain tumors and lesions through the nose. Performed through a natural nasal air pathway through the nose and sinuses, this procedure does not require any incisions. Instead, a very narrow tube (endoscope) with a light and lens on it is fed to the area of your body that needs treated. The lens projects extremely magnified, panoramic internal images onto a monitor so the surgeon can perform the procedure very precisely.
