Turning Life Around

Last November, Wilma had minimally invasive pelvic prolapse surgery at West Penn Hospital, where Dr. Klapper repaired injuries to her gynecological tissues and restored support to her bladder. For Wilma, minimally invasive surgery meant a shorter hospitalization, decreased pain and a quicker recovery. Within a few days, Wilma was discharged and soon resumed her normal activities. Most importantly, she noticed an immediate relief of her symptoms. "I couldn't believe it!" said Wilma, who is now enjoying her retirement after working for many years as a cashier at Wal-Mart. "I was finally cured. For the first time in 12 years, I was able to get a restful sleep. My quality of life improved dramatically. There's no stopping me now!" Dr. Klapper said it is extremely gratifying to help patients such as Wilma to regain independence and peace of mind.
