Operational Canine Medical Course
The Operational Canine Medical Course is designed to provide public safety personnel with knowledge and skill practice to care for an injured operational canine. In addition, topics focusing on basic assessment, airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hemorrhage control, vascular access placement and complications, and basic work flow management are addressed.
Learning objectives
- Identify laws that allow trained public safety personnel to perform necessary life threatening treatment
- Explain proper assessment techniques to identify life threatening medical and traumatic incidents of the operational canine
- Demonstrate proficiencies in assessment, treatment skills, and resuscitation techniques for the operational canine
