Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS)

Course Overview

The Basic Life Support (BLS) course teaches learners to recognize several life-threatening emergencies and to respond appropriately. Training includes instructions for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

Learning Outcomes

  1. Perform high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants.
  2. Initiate the chain of survival as soon as a problem is identified.
  3. Provide early defibrillation with an automated external defibrillator (AED) when one is available.
