Incontinence, bladder control issues, or other urology and male reproductive concerns can disrupt your life. But relief is within reach at Allegheny Health Network (AHN).

Our network delivers comprehensive, compassionate general urology care for men and women at locations across western Pennsylvania. We use the latest therapies to manage uncomfortable urologic symptoms, including less-invasive treatments for enlarged prostate symptoms.

You can also access specialized urologic services through AHN’s Triangle Urology, which serves patients in outpatient offices and hospitals in 4 counties. Part of our network since 2013, Triangle Urology is a referral center for complex urology problems, such as kidney and prostate cancer.

Our advanced urology program

We also offer:

  • Urology expertise: Our physicians are board-certified, which means they’ve received extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the urinary tract system and reproductive organs. Several members of team are also fellowship-trained, which helps them care for complex urologic conditions effectively.
  • Specialized urology centers: Our specialized centers offer patients care from experienced physicians and the convenience of addressing different health concerns all at once. Our Center for Men’s Health and Genitourinary Reconstruction is devoted to men’s health issues, including erectile dysfunction and male infertility. At AHN’s multidisciplinary prostate and renal centers, patients receive top-rated diagnosis and treatment services for prostate and kidney cancer. Learn more about the AHN Cancer Institute.
  • Treatment innovations: Our urology physicians are known nationally for developing new therapies for urologic conditions. We offer less-invasive benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) treatments that may relieve the uncomfortable effects of BPH — without medication or loss of sexual function. AHN physicians also pioneered the use of cryosurgical techniques (killing cancer cells by freezing them) to treat prostate cancer. Learn more about how we treat prostate cancer.
  • Team mindset: We take a team approach to your care. Along with urologists, your care team may include advanced practice providers (such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants) and urogynecologists (urology physicians who focus on the unique needs of women). After your diagnosis, your physician discusses the specifics of your case with these other specialists. Their collaboration helps us offer you a higher level of care, quickly.
  • Personalized treatment plans: Our patients are an important member of their care team. We value your input and encourage you to voice any questions or concerns you have. This communication helps us develop a treatment plan that’s personalized to your preferences, lifestyle, and emotional needs.
  • Convenience: We offer outstanding general urology care at several outpatient and hospital locations near you. Often, we can provide same-day appointments. See our general urology locations and Triangle Urology locations.

Multidisciplinary centers for urology specialty care

We offer specialized centers that focus their care on certain urologic conditions. When you visit one of these centers, you can often see different specialists during one visit. This makes it easier for you to manage related health concerns at one time.

Our prostate center

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men. But it’s often curable if caught early.

Our Prostate Center is the only center of its kind in the region. There, urology and cancer specialists work side by side to speed diagnosis and treatment.

Every year, we care for hundreds of men with prostate cancer using the most effective treatments. Read more about our Prostate Center.

Our renal center

At our Renal Center, patients with kidney and adrenal tumors receive streamlined diagnoses and the latest kidney cancer treatments. For new patients, you may undergo testing, evaluation, and receive your results in a single visit.

Many specialists join forces on your care. You may also be eligible to join clinical trials that explore new ways to treat kidney cancer. Find out more about our Renal Center.

Our center for men’s health

At our Center for Men’s Health and Genitourinary Reconstruction, you’ll be evaluated by physicians who have extra training in men’s urologic and reproductive health. These physicians also understand the personal nature of these topics.

We use the latest medical and surgical advances to treat men’s health concerns, including erectile dysfunction, infertility, and urinary frequency. See how men benefit from our Center for Men’s Health and Genitourinary Reconstruction.

Robotic surgery in urology care

We offer the latest technological innovations, including da Vinci® robotic surgery. When physicians use robotic technology during surgery, they make tiny incisions to access the affected area.

A physician guides the robot’s movements, which allows for greater precision. Robotic technology also means fewer risks for you. Patients often experience less discomfort after surgery and shorter recoveries.

We use this minimally invasive approach to perform many types of urology procedures on men and women, including:

  • Nephrectomy (removal of the kidney)
  • Partial nephrectomy
  • Pyeloplasty (kidney surgery)
  • Cystectomy (removal of the bladder)
  • Prostatectomy (removal of the prostate)
  • Sacrocolpopexy (treatment of pelvic organ prolapse)
