AGH Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

This one-year fellowship is open to applicants who have completed a general surgery residency. Fellows specialize in caring for patients with acute, life-threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions. The fellowship incorporates knowledge and skills of non-operative techniques for supportive care for critically ill patients. It also fosters a broad understanding of the relationship between critical surgical illness and surgical procedures. Advanced knowledge and skills enable surgical critical care physicians to provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in all age groups. Allegheny General Hospital will begin training one surgical critical care fellow per year, starting in 2016.
