Work in an enriching environment

At AVH we welcome both new and experienced nurses who want to become a part of our team. You’ll be able to advance your professional knowledge while providing compassionate care. Our nurses enjoy an education-rich environment where you are able to learn new techniques while saving lives.

Our nurses also develop leadership skills through various unit-based and global lean teams and governance councils. You participate in decision making to help improve patient outcomes and experiences.

Opportunities for growth

AVH nurses get opportunities for both personal and professional growth. Graduate nurses hired by Allegheny Health Network and AVH complete a 12-month Nurse Residency Program. Newly hired registered nurses complete a structured orientation program with preceptor support.

We encourage you to participate in unit councils and hospital committees. And we provide clinical experiences for nursing students from our Citizen’s School of Nursing program and other nursing programs throughout the region.
