At the Allegheny Health Network’s Healthcare @ Home program, we understand how a serious or chronic illness can bring challenges for you and your family members. These problems may be physical, such as pain, fatigue, nausea or shortness of breath. Or your difficulties may be emotional, such as stress or anxiety. When it becomes difficult to deal with your illness on your own, Healthcare at Home’s palliative care team can help.
Unlike hospice—which is end-of-life-care—palliative care aims to improve your quality of life as you battle a disease. You can receive palliative care at any stage of illness and in conjunction with all other curative treatments. We can deliver palliative care concurrently with life-prolonging care or as the main focus of care.
