The radiologists who oversee our imaging specialize in mammography and are board-certified, meaning they have passed rigorous tests of skills and expertise. Our experienced techs make you comfortable, while giving you the best quality scans possible.
We provide the results of your tests in a timely manner. For diagnostic mammograms and breast ultrasounds, we turn the findings around the same day. Early detection is your best protection against breast cancer and osteoporosis-related bone loss and fractures.
The hospital also offers additional ultrasounds, including sonograms. Learn more about our other imaging services.

We use Selenia® mammography from Hologic. All our mammography is digital, which:
3-D mammography (also known as Tomosynthesis) is the most modern screening and diagnostic tool available for early detection of breast cancer. While standard 2-D mammography produces a flat image, tomosynthesis creates a three-dimensional rendering of the breast — which results in greater accuracy, earlier breast cancer detection and a decrease in biopsies and recall rates.
Tomosynthesis utilizes specially-equipped digital (x-ray) mammography machines and acquires images at multiple angles. The images are reconstructed as multiple thin slices which can be individually “scrolled through” to reduce tissue overlap. When added to standard digital mammography, tomosynthesis detects an additional 1 to 2 cancers per thousand women screened in the first round of screening. . We always give you the choice between a 3D and 2D mammogram, as insurance companies may ask you to pay some of the price of the newer type of scan.
We provide a relaxing setting for your mammogram. You change your clothes and have your mammogram performed within the same private area. You wear a full-covered gown throughout the test.

Diagnostic exams are scheduled on select days of the week.
Ultrasound imaging of the breast uses sound waves to produce pictures of the internal structures of the breast. It is primarily used to help diagnose breast lumps or other abnormalities your doctor may have found during a physical exam or mammogram. Ultrasound is safe, noninvasive and does not use radiation.
Hours: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday to Friday, with weeknights and Saturdays by appointment
Bone densitometry, or dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), helps us with osteoporosis evaluation. We evaluate potential bone loss and risk for fractures, looking at your lower back and hips and, when needed, your forearms.
The procedure takes about 15 minutes.
