Research and Scholarly Activity

Our program enhances the educational experience of residency by providing an environment rich in research and scholarly activity.

Residents complete a mentored scholarly project and present their work on Resident Research Day as a PGY-3.  Projects utilize the clinical research and quality improvement skills acquired in the first two years of training through didactic and clinical instruction.  The faculty mentor and our director of resident research guide residents through the research process, and a statistician provides statistical support.  Many of these projects have been presented at major medical society conferences, have been published in peer-reviewed journals, or have improved the quality of the care we provide.
