Physical therapy

Our physical therapists develop customized treatment programs to improve endurance, flexibility, strength, and balance. We offer:

  • Patient navigator: To help you prepare for and recover from joint surgery, patient navigators in our Diamond Care program offer guidance and educational information. We coordinate tests and follow-up with you during recovery.
  • Pre-surgical preparation: We offer educational sessions before surgery to so that you and your caregivers know what to expect. These sessions help ensure a smoother, faster recovery.

  • Outpatient physical therapy: For your convenience, we have numerous AHN Therapy Services locations throughout the metro Pittsburgh area. Many clinics offer specialized programs for hand problems, concussions, Parkinson’s disease, and balance and sensory (vestibular) issues.

Occupational therapy

Our occupational therapists help you master daily activities like dressing, grooming, and fixing meals. Our goal is to help you regain and maintain independence in daily living. When needed, we can secure medical equipment to make everyday tasks easier.

Lymphedema therapy

Infections, trauma, heart disease, and cancer treatments can cause the lymphatic system to stop draining properly. This condition, called lymphedema, leads to swelling and pain in the arms or legs. Our therapists are experts at complete decongestive therapy, which improves lymph gland drainage. We also offer customized recovery programs and compression garments.

Speech-language therapy

Speech-language pathologists help improve the ability to talk, eat, and swallow. We help people affected by strokes, brain injuries, neurological disorders, and other medical conditions. We also help bolster language and cognitive abilities.

Home health services

Healthcare@Home, AHN’s home health services program, sends specialists to your home for physical therapy and rehabilitation services. We assist with daily activities such as bathing and grooming. We also offer skilled nursing care for chronic disease management.
