High-Yield Neurosurgery Sub-Internship Preparatory Course

The AHN Neurosurgery department is hosting a resident-led two-day course geared towards third-year medical students to help prepare for their sub-I’s in Neurosurgery.

The course is open to medical students across all years with an interest in neurosurgery and will include everything you need to know to succeed in your sub-I’s, such as neuroanatomy, neuroradiology, neurocritical care, management strategist, and expectations of a sub-I.

Join us if you want to shine in your sub-I’s, learn about neurosurgery, meet our residents at AHN, and/or ask any other questions you might have.

Temporal Bone Microanatomy and Hands-On Dissection Workshop

Stroke Symposium

AHN / Aesculap Academy CSF Dynamics and Disorders

Cerebrospinal fluid dynamics and specifically Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) continues to be an ongoing challenge for both the clinicians and the patients.  For the clinicians, the last decade has been a discovery period with extensive research and continuous dialogue to gain understanding of this clinical condition.  There is an increasing need to develop protocols and clinical standards for the diagnosed and undiagnosed NPH patients.

This course will serve as a platform of shared expertise and experience in regards to the diagnosis and management of this condition. The course concept will provide theoretical and practical training on the safe application of the Aesculap products.  This is designed for both practicing general neurosurgeons, residents and any advanced practice provider wanting to gain knowledge and discuss this challenging condition in a hybrid of didactic and collaborative environment.

Microscopic and Endoscopic Minimally Invasive Skull Base Surgery and Vascular Bypass Course

Annual course focused on microsurgical and endoscopic skull base approaches to tumors and vascular pathology.  This course is taught by leaders in skull base neurosurgery and ENT with emphasis on hands-on learning.   The course takes place at the AHN Center for the Surgical Arts, a state-of-the-art cadaveric dissection lab, with direct guidance and instruction from the many national and international experts present at the course.
