AHN Earns Fifth Consecutive “High Performer” Designation by National Association for Healthcare Philanthropy for 2022 Philanthropic Impact
4,000 Donors, $40 Million in Charitable Contributions Help Support Network’s Mission and Service to the Community
PITTSBURGH – Allegheny Health Network has once again been honored by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy as one of the nation’s top-performing healthcare-related fundraising organizations.
In recognition of its fundraising success and its impact on AHN, the network’s fundraising team has been designated as an “overall high performer” by the National Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) for the fifth consecutive year. The designation signifies the achievement of raising more than $23 million in net production returns, putting AHN in the top quartile when measured against other association members.
In 2022, AHN reported more than $40 million in philanthropic impact, with more than 4,000 donors.
The award is a recognition of the ways AHN has “engaged the community in its mission and strategic goals,” according to AHP.
“This honor says a lot about the vital role that AHN plays in our region, and the trust that our patients and donors have placed in us to be thoughtful stewards of their charitable contributions,” said Allie Quick, Senior Vice President & Chief Philanthropy Officer at AHN. “The generosity of our donors has helped to transform our healthcare organization, sustain our charitable mission, and launch some incredibly innovative clinical programs and services that help build stronger, healthier communities.”
Earlier this year, AHN released its annual philanthropy impact report for 2022, highlighting the development team’s recent work in support of numerous patient-centered care programs and new facilities that serve communities across Western Pennsylvania.
In 2022, those philanthropy-supported programs included AHN’s Chill Mobile program (a mental wellness program created for children and teens, housed in a specially outfitted RV that travels from school to school, supported by Pirates Charities, PNC Bank, Allegheny County, and the A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust); a new palliative and hospice suite at AHN Forbes Hospital (supported by individual donors); the AHN Aging Brain Care Program and dementia care network (supported by the Henry L. Hillman Foundation); and the Talent Attraction Program (a work-study program, based at AHN Jefferson Hospital, designed to educate the next generation of allied health pro
