The Forbes and West Penn Hospitals PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program has operated as an ASHP-accredited, multi-site residency since 2017. Beginning with the incoming 2024 residency class, each hospital began operating a single-site residency. The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency conducted by Forbes Hospital, Monroeville, PA and West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, was accredited by ASHP.
Graduates of the program have gone on to complete PGY2 training in Critical Care, Oncology, and Infectious Diseases as well as been hired directly into clinical and staffing roles. We are proud to share that 10 of our residency graduates are currently employed within Allegheny Health Network.
