AHN to Administer First Dose of Pfizer Vaccine Today to Baldwin High School Students

PITTSBURGH – This morning, Allegheny Health Network (AHN) will partner with Baldwin-Whitehall School District to host a first dose Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine clinic for Baldwin High School students ages 16 to 18. Over 110 students have pre-registered with parent/guardian consent to receive the vaccine and will receive their second dose at the school on June 3.

The clinic at Baldwin is one of several school-based Pfizer clinics that AHN will be hosting in the coming weeks to ensure easy vaccine access for adolescents in the community. As the vaccine receives emergency use authorization for additional age groups, AHN is planning to host large-scale Pfizer clinics for families as well.

This afternoon, AHN will also help approximately 1,250 community members become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by providing second doses of the Pfizer vaccine at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood. The clinic is a follow-up from the first dose AHN clinic held at the facility on April 15.

No walk-ins will be accepted at either clinic today. Upon conclusion of the events, AHN will have administered nearly 350,000 vaccines across western Pennsylvania.

To schedule an appointment at an upcoming vaccine clinic, many of which are now being held at AHN hospitals, visit www.ahn.org/coronavirus/vaccine or call (412) DOCTORS. Appointments can also be made via AHN MyChart.
