Meet the Saint Vincent Hospital CNO
Maureen Melia Chadwick, MSN, RN, NE-BC
Maureen “Mo” Melia Chadwick is chief nursing officer and senior vice president of Patient Care Services at Saint Vincent Hospital (SVH), part of Allegheny Health Network. She’s served in her current role since 2011 and has worked at SVH for more than 30 years. Maureen has held a variety of leadership positions, including inpatient director positions, director of the cardiac cath lab, and director of surgical services.
Maureen received her diploma in nursing in 1984 at the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She earned a BSN from Penn State University in 1998 and an MSN from Saint Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine, in 2008. Maureen also earned a PhD from Gannon University, where her doctoral work focused on the lack of diversity in nursing in Western Pennsylvania.
In addition, Maureen has served as a lecturer at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, where she taught nursing research and data management for nurse managers. Maureen has been published in a variety of nursing journals, including AORN, Cath Lab Digest, Nursing Management, and Nursing Economics. She is also a board-certified nurse executive through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
