Take a breath: Have a ball

Take a breath: Have a ball

Allegheny Health Network promoted asthma awareness at the EQT Three Rivers Regatta

And while it’s wonderful to be recognized for our quality of care, what we truly celebrate are the outcomes – that’s the Living Proof of the difference we’re making each day for our patients and their families.

Next time you blow up a beach ball, remember that Allegheny Health Network helps 1,800 kids with asthma every year, so they can breathe, run, and play. The high incidence of childhood asthma in the Pittsburgh region means many kids suffer from this condition.

In early August, Allegheny Health Network inflated the largest beach ball in the United States – at 40 feet – along the North Shore waterfront, in recognition of these kids. It’s symbolic of the Living Proof we work to deliver each and every day for our patients. And it’s representative of our ongoing commitment to provide the residents of Western PA with the highest level of quality care.

Allegheny Health Network's asthma specialist, Dr. Deborah Gentile, also spoke at the event to talk about the prevalence of asthma in our area and what Allegheny Health Network is doing to combat it.
