Cervical cancer care at Allegheny Health Network
At the Cancer Institute, you can expect patient-centric, advanced care. You typically meet with your devoted oncology team within three days of your diagnosis. We review every aspect of your diagnosis and discuss a treatment plan with you, which we implement right away.
We continue to meet regularly throughout your treatment to monitor your progress, see how you’re responding to the treatment, and determine if we need to change the course of treatment.
We also cater to your emotional needs after diagnosis. We know the logistics of cancer treatment can be daunting, and we are here to support you:
- A Navigation Team coordinates appointments, answers questions, and provides guidance.
- An oncology social worker helps patients and families cope with the emotional aspects of living with cancer.
- Robust support services, including support groups and palliative care, help you live well during treatment.
