Teaching rounds occur daily with dedicated faculty members in the ICU’s and teaching floors with the fellows, medicine residents and medical students. Their goal is to create a learning environment in which fellows learn the fundamental principles that govern the practice of pulmonary and critical care medicine, develop their clinical skills and develop their autonomy to provide the full continuity of patient care also incorporating the principles of a commitment to lifelong learning, the value of cooperative and collaborative team work, and the importance of the psychosocial aspects of patient care. We have a strong research culture and continue to encourage clinical research. Our fellows are mentored with faculty to develop these skills.
