Allegheny Health Network Research

Every cure begins with a discovery. And some of the most amazing medical discoveries are taking place at Allegheny Health Network Research.

Innovation is a time-honored tradition at the hospitals of Allegheny Health Network. We boldly challenge the status quo and look for solutions outside the box. It is through pioneering research that we are helping more people to live longer and enjoy healthier lives.

Our nationally renowned research center encompasses work in many disciplines, including allergy, asthma and autoimmunity; biofilms; cancer; cardiovascular diseases; esophageal diseases; orthopedics; psychiatry; and the neurosciences. More than 400 active research projects are in progress throughout our network and nearly 150 of our clinicians are serving as principal investigators.

In addition, we offer patients the opportunity to participate in a wide array of clinical trials. This gives our patients access to promising new treatments that are not yet available to the general public. Through all these efforts, we are poised to make medical discoveries that were unthinkable only a few years ago. Ultimately, this will give new hope for generations to come.
