If you or someone you love experiences a serious injury, getting emergency care quickly can save lives. The Trauma Center at AHN Forbes Hospital is here for you 24/7 with expert, timely care — from the moment paramedics arrive, through each stage of treatment, and during recovery.
Trauma care is for people who have been through major accidents or injuries — like car crashes, bad falls, assaults, stabbings, or gunshot wounds. Forbes Hospital’s Trauma Center is equipped to handle all these situations and more, any time, day or night.
Forbes is committed to providing care to every patient who walks through its doors, regardless of how complex their condition is.
When EMS teams arrive on scene, they work quickly to evaluate the patient and provide care right away — even before reaching the emergency department. EMS can also arrange for helicopter transport, called LifeFlight, if someone is far away from a hospital and needs emergency care quickly.
“When it comes to trauma care, every minute matters,” said Mike Taramelli, Trauma Program Director, Forbes Hospital. “Getting care within the first hour of your injury gives you the best chance at recovery.”
AHN Forbes Trauma Center is ready to deliver care quickly and safely to you and your loved ones, as soon as you need it.
On average, trauma patients stay in the hospital for about five days, but some may need more time. After a patient leaves the hospital, the team at AHN Forbes Trauma Clinic provides follow-up care, which may include:
