Labor and Delivery Services at Jefferson Hospital

Pregnancy and childbirth can be one of the most memorable times in a woman’s life. That’s why you deserve comprehensive care close to home in a facility that feels like home – from week 1 to week 40 and beyond.

The region’s newest labor and delivery center

The AHN Women and Infants Center at Jefferson Hospital is part of the fastest-growing labor and delivery program in western PA.* At Jefferson Hospital, you get access to the same high-quality, expert care women receive throughout Allegheny Health Network (AHN).

Expert care close to home

If you’re having a baby, you don’t need to drive all way to Pittsburgh when it comes time to deliver. The AHN Women and Infants Center at Jefferson Hospital is conveniently located on Route 51 in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. And it offers the same advanced services that are more commonly associated with city hospitals. Plus, your prenatal visits to your OB-GYN are also close to home.

State-of-the-art setting and equipment

When you deliver at Jefferson, you prepare for your child’s arrival in our new, spacious delivery suites — with room for the whole family to welcome the new baby. Our on-site obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal nurses provide 24/7 medical support for you and your baby. We are also equipped with a Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to care for premature infants or those who have special medical needs.

The only midwifery program in the South Hills

For a more intimate birthing experience, you may choose to work with one of our certified nurse midwives. Serving the only midwifery program in the South Hills, they focus on the natural, healthy processes of pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Our nurse midwives personally connect with their patients to help you make the most of your journey toward parenthood.
