Dr. DiCuccio serves as the Chief Nursing Officer of Allegheny General Hospital. She has practiced nursing in direct care capacities in surgical intensive care, cardiothoracic surgery, nursing education (adult and pediatric), and nursing quality. An experienced nurse leader, she has previously held several senior level positions including the Chief Nursing Officer of Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, PA; Chief Executive Officer/Chief Nursing Officer of Suburban General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA; Chief Nursing Officer of UPMC Ismett in Palermo, Italy; and Chief Nursing Officer of UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh, PA. She has also served as an Assistant Professor at Robert Morris University School of Nursing and Allied Health.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s of Science in Nursing from LaRoche College with a focus in Nursing Administration and Human Resources, and a PhD in Nursing from Duquesne University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on patient safety culture and the impact of culture on nurse advocacy for the patient and patient outcomes. She is published in professional journals such as Infectious Disorders, the Journal of Patient Safety, Journal of Nursing Administration and Critical Care Nursing Quarterly. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and is certified as Nurse Executive Advanced.
Dr. DiCuccio is active in professional nursing organizations. She is a current member and former board member, including past chair, of the board of the Southwest Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders. She is a current member and former board member of the Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders. Marge is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and the Association of Critical Care Nurses. She serves as a trustee of Robert Morris University and volunteers in her community as a church violinist.
Dr. DiCuccio is a sought after speaker and subject matter expert in the areas of nursing leadership, patient safety, and nursing education. She is a valued member of the Executive Leadership Team at Allegheny General Hospital and the Executive Nursing Leadership Team at Allegheny Health Network.
