Allegheny Health Network’s (AHN) Health + Wellness Pavilion West Side, located at 4247 West Ridge Road in Millcreek Township, will offer a whole new level of healthcare services to the Erie community.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Wednesday, May 11,, 2016 where representatives of AHN, Saint Vincent and Highmark Health joined community leaders and elected officials to celebrate the opening of the new facility.
The Health + Wellness Pavilion West Side brings together Saint Vincent Hospital primary care, pediatrics and sports medicine physicians, along with an urgent care center, rehabilitation facility, ACL laboratory and high level diagnostic imaging services.
“Comprehensive outpatient care capabilities have become a critically important part of our evolving healthcare system,” said Scott Whalen, PhD, FACHE, president and CEO of Saint Vincent Hospital. “This wonderful new Pavilion brings outstanding healthcare services into the Erie community and provides a better, more convenient experience for our patients.”
AHN’s intent in developing Health + Wellness Pavilions is to improve healthcare access for patients by providing a one stop resource for their diverse health and wellness needs.
“These facilities are another great example of our organization’s dedication to providing patients with the right care, at the right place and at the right time,” commented Whalen. “They allow doctors from various specialties to work better as a team to manage a patient’s care and achieve the best outcomes possible.”
The Health + Wellness Pavilion West Side is AHN’s fourth such facility and the first to be located in the Erie region. Others are located in the Wexford, Bethel Park and Peters Township communities close to Pittsburgh.
According to Cindy Hundorfean, AHN’s President and CEO, providing greater access to well-coordinated, multi-disciplinary outpatient care is a key component of the Network’s strategy for success in meeting the growing and changing needs of its patients and the communities it serves.
“We believe our Health + Wellness Pavilion model represents the future of healthcare, as advances in medicine allow more and more care to be provided in outpatient settings, and as more focus is placed on wellness and disease prevention,” Hundorfean said. “Erie is a very important region for our Network, and we are excited to provide patients in this community with more high quality, integrated care options close to home.”
The Saint Vincent Imaging Center, Saint Vincent Urgent Care and the offices of Saint Vincent Pediatrics will begin seeing patients at the new Health + Wellness Pavilion on Monday, May 16th.
The Saint Vincent Imaging Center will provide patients with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging capabilities. This includes 3D Digital tomosynthesis mammography, which improves breast cancer screening and detection by helping radiologists more accurately distinguish harmless abnormalities from real cancers. The Pavilion’s CT and MRI technologies are equipped with the latest software and design, affording superior quality images with the lowest possible patient radiation exposure.
The Saint Vincent Urgent Care Center provides west county residents with access to emergent care for injuries and illnesses that do not require the full services of a hospital emergency department. The facility is the western most Urgent Care resource within Erie County and will conveniently serve residents of those surrounding communities.
On Monday, May 23rd, Saint Vincent Primary Care, Sports Medicine, Rehab Solutions and ACL labs also will begin serving patients at the new location.
The Health + Wellness Pavilion West Side was developed by The Westminster Group Companies and West Ridge Medical Partners, LLC. Construction on the $18.1 million, 44,000 square foot complex began in early 2015.
