Allegheny Valley Hospital (AVH) is a 200 bed inpatient facility located in Natrona Heights. Since its beginning in 1909, AVH has provided healthcare to 170,000 residents in portions of Allegheny, Butler, Westmoreland, and Armstrong counties.

Emergency Division: Emergency Room, Clinical Decision Unit and Pre-Hospital Services.
Medical/Surgical Division: General Medical, General Surgical, Oncology, Hospice, Outpatient IV Infusion, Orthopedics.
Behavioral Health Division: Adult Psyche and Geri Psyche.
Critical Care Division: Medical and Surgical ICU, Medical and Surgical Stepdown.
Telemetry Division: Medical and Surgical Telemetry.
Rehab Division: Inpatient Acute Rehab, Outpatient Cardiac Rehab.
Peri-operative Division: Pre-Anesthesia Testing, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, Operating Room, Endoscopy/Special Procedures, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Central Sterile Processing.
Community Care Network: High Risk inpatient and outpatient services.
Care Coordination: Case Management and Social Services.
Radiation Division: Radiation Oncology.
At AVH, we provide our nurses with opportunities for both personal and professional growth. Graduate nurses hired by AHN and AVH complete a 12 month Nurse Residency Program. Newly hired registered nurses complete a structured orientation program with preceptor support.
Nurses are encouraged to actively participate in unit councils and hospital committees. We currently provide an on-site RN-BSN program through Waynesburg University. AVH also provides clinical experiences for nursing students from our Citizen’s School of Nursing program and other nursing programs throughout the region.
