Center for Surgical Arts
As part of Allegheny Health Network’s ongoing commitment to excellence in medicine, and mission driven educational experiences for residency and fellowships program, we’re proud to announce the opening of the Center for Surgical Arts.
Located on the 4th floor of Allegheny General Hospital’s South Tower, the Center for Surgical Arts is technology-driven teaching lab. Featuring 21 stations for training students, residents and fellows from all specialties, , it also features the Peter Jannetta conference room, which can hold up to 27 people for conferences and lectures, as well as continuing medical education (CME) classes. Department sponsored, CME credited along with regional and national specialty courses will be hosted within the CSA.
Additional state-of-the-art equipment within the Center includes:
- 7100 square feet of teaching and simulation space
- 15 downdraft tables to help minimize odors
- Six radiolucent tables
- An in light HD video camera
- 20 AV linked stations with conferencing capability
- An autoclave
- Cold storage
- Lift assist
