Cervical Cancer

A cervical cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. At Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute, we have extensive experience diagnosing and treating this rare cancer. We provide the personalized treatment and support you need, every step of the way.

We offer the most rigorous treatment options in the region. You’ll work with an expert team of physicians who will develop the best treatment plan for you.

Cervical cancer care at AHN

At the Cancer Institute, you can expect patient-centric, advanced care. You typically meet with your devoted oncology team within three days of your diagnosis. We review every aspect of your diagnosis and discuss a treatment plan with you, which we implement right away.

We continue to meet regularly throughout your treatment to monitor your progress, see how you’re responding to the treatment, and determine if we need to change the course of treatment.

We also cater to your emotional needs after diagnosis. We know the logistics of cancer treatment can be daunting, and we are here to support you:

  • A Navigation Team coordinates appointments, answers questions, and provides guidance.
  • An oncology social worker helps patients and families cope with the emotional aspects of living with cancer.
  • Robust support services, including support groups and palliative care, help you live well during treatment.

Cervical cancer treatment

Our treatments are designed to keep you living your healthiest life. Treatment options include the latest chemotherapy medications, targeted radiation therapy, and minimally invasive robotic surgery.

Our surgeons are experienced in the latest robotic surgical technologies. These techniques allow for quicker recovery and completion of additional therapies, such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or angiogenesis inhibitors (drugs to stop a tumor’s growth). We also participate in clinical trials, ensuring you have access to the latest treatment options.

Because having a rare cancer can be especially stressful, we offer robust support for the entire family. Our social workers, Navigation Team, and After Hours Oncology Clinic offer support when you need it. Get more information on cervical cancer treatment.
